RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The state is seeking public input on an upcoming draft report for a six-year transportation improvement plan.

On May 15 the Commonwealth Transportation Board will release the draft for fiscal years 2014 through 2019. The meeting will be held in the Virginia Department of Transportation's central office auditorium in Richmond.

The board then will hold public hearings May 28 in Richmond, May 29 in Fairfax, June 4 in Roanoke, and June 5 in Chesapeake.

The program will provide additional statewide funding as a result of the transportation plan signed this year by Gov. Bob McDonnell.

Funding will go toward road and bridge projects as well as rail, transit, bicycle, pedestrian and other transportation improvements across the state beginning July 1.
