Judge Delays Trial of Va. Couple Charged in 3 Fire Deaths

December 13, 2010

A judge has delayed the trial of a Virginia couple on a federal charge in the slaying of a West Virginia man.

Lorie Ann Taylor-Keller and Nakia Keller of Fulks Run are charged with crossing state lines to kill Taylor-Keller's ex-husband, 36-year-old Dennis "Chip" Taylor, last year at his home in Hardy County, W.Va.

Their trial was set for January, but U.S. District Judge Glen E. Conrad in Harrisonburg has pushed it back until March 25.

The couple also face state murder charges in West Virginia. They are accused of killing Taylor, his 39-year-old wife Allaina Taylor and her 5-year-old daughter, Kaylee Grace Whetzel.

The victims' bodies were found inside their burned home. Police say all three victims had been shot.
