Man Pleads Guilty in Va. Restaurant Slaying

A Newport News man faces up to life in prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from the fatal shooting of a restaurant worker during a robbery.

WAVY-TV reports that Henry Lee Stapleton entered his plea Monday in federal court in Norfolk.

Stapleton pleaded guilty to murder with a firearm in relation to violence, interference with commerce by robbery and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.

Stapleton is one of three men charged in the slaying of 47-year-old Diane Elizabeth Green during a robbery at a Hardee's restaurant in Newport News on September 8, 2007. A co-worker of Green's was wounded.

The other defendants' cases are pending.
