The body of a 31-year-old West Virginia man has been recovered from the New River.
The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports that it's the first drowning on the river this year.
Giles County Sheriff Morgan Millirons says authorities got a call about a possible drowning between Glen Lyn and Narrows on Saturday morning. The body was found 14 feet under water at about 3 p.m.
Millirons says the victim, whose name was not immediately released, was fishing with two other people and was not wearing a lifejacket.
