Gov. Bob McDonnell is awarding $5 million in grants to help create jobs in rural Virginia.
McDonnell on Friday announced the grants to attract projects
that involve more than $250 million in capital investment and the
creation of more than 400 new full-time jobs. The funding was
awarded to the Danville-Pittsylvania Regional IDA, Martinsville-Henry County and Wythe County.
The grants will be used for site planning and related
McDonnell says the state is doing everything it can do to bring
high quality jobs and projects to Virginia.
The funding is from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and
Community Revitalization Commission.
