Missing Va. Woman Found Dead in New Mexico

November 12, 2010

Authorities say they've found the body of a Virginia woman who disappeared last weekend while on a trip to Albuquerque.

University of New Mexico police say 47-year-old Rochelle Cremona-Simmons was found dead Thursday afternoon in the front seat of her rental car in a campus parking lot.

University police told KOB-TV that it appears the woman committed suicide.

Authorities say Cremona-Simmons came to Albuquerque recently with her husband for a conference and was staying at a hotel near the city's airport. Police say the couple had some sort of domestic dispute and she drove off in the rental car.

Police say the body has been taken to the medical examiner's office and the woman's family has been notified of the death.
