NWS Reports Tornado on Va.'s Eastern Shore

A tornado touched down on Virginia's Eastern Shore, damaging a mobile home and injuring one person.

Meteorologist Lyle Alexander with the Wakefield office of the National Weather Service says the tornado occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Accomack County. The damage to the mobile home and the injury to an occupant were reported in Melfa.

A tornado warning has been issued for nearby areas of the shore.
