ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - The Natural Bridge is temporarily closing during an ownership change.

The Rockbridge County attraction announced the closure on its website Wednesday. It cited real estate developer Angelo Puglisi's sale of the property to a nonprofit conservation group as the reason for the shutdown.

The Roanoke Times reports that the bridge will be closed Monday, and the affiliated Natural Bridge Hotel is already closed. Both are expected to reopen Jan. 25.

Woltz and Associates is the Roanoke firm handling the sale. The company has said the buyer will remain anonymous until the purchase is complete.

Company president Jim Woltz also has said the buyer's goal is to get the property, which also includes a wax museum and caverns, into the national or state park system.
