New Lottery Game Comes to Virginia

February 1, 2011

The Virginia Lottery says it is offering a new regional game that pays a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years, or a one-time cash option of $4 million.

The Kentucky and Georgia lotteries also are participating in the Decades for Dollars game.

Tickets cost $2 each, and players pick 6 of 47 numbers. The first drawing will be Thursday. After that, drawings will be on Monday and Thursday nights.

The chances of winning the top prize are a little more than one in 10.7 million. Other prizes include $10,000, $100, $10 and a free ticket.
