Officers Seize More Than 50 Rabbits from Va. Home

March 16, 2012

Dozens of rabbits have been seized from a Virginia Beach home.

Virginia Beach police spokesman Jimmy Barnes tells media outlets that police and Animal Control officers went to the home Thursday night after authorities received a report of a foul smell.

Barnes says the officers removed more than 50 rabbits and took them to the local animal shelter to be examined.

The rabbits' owner was at work at the time. Barnes says she agreed to let officers remove the rabbits.
