Owner of 100 Seized Animals Facing Neglect Charges

November 18, 2010

A Thaxton man faces animal neglect charges stemming from the seizure of more than 100 dogs and cats from his mobile home.

The Roanoke Times reports that Ronald Lee Snellings remains free on bond. He was charged Monday with 10 neglect counts.

Bedford County authorities removed 28 dogs and 74 cats from Snellings' home in September after neighbors complained about the animals.

Snellings' attorney, Bill Stanley, says there wasn't any intent to neglect the animals. Stanley says he expects Snellings to be found not guilty on all charges.
