Personal Information Revealed in Va. School Emails

Richmond public school officials say human error was to blame for an e-mail sent to all city school staff containing personal information for more than 100 workers.

The inadvertent electronic dispatch also included Social Security numbers.

Schools spokeswoman Felicia Cosby told the "Richmond Times-Dispatch" the errant e-mail was sent to about 3,300 employees this week. An hour passed before the error was discovered and action taken.

School officials are offering identity theft protection services to the workers whose personal information was released.
