Police Officers Patrolling on New Year's Eve

Dec. 31, 2013

Police will be out in force for New Year's Eve, making sure party-goers are being responsible and not driving drunk.

City, county, and State Police are all prepared for a long night of being on the lookout for those driving under the influence.

Statewide, deaths in crashes involving drunk drivers increased 4.6 percent last year.

Albemarle County Police encourage all those going out to have a sober way to get home.

The Allen & Allen personal injury law firm is partnering up with Yellow Cab to offer free taxi rides home for Charlottesville residents. You must ask for the Sober Ride Home to be eligible for the free fare.
