A retired Norfolk police detective has been convicted on two counts of extortion and one count of lying to the FBI.
"The Virginian-Pilot" reports that a federal jury acquitted Robert Glenn Ford on two other extortion counts Wednesday.
Ford faces up to 20 years in prison on each extortion conviction and up to five years on the false statements count.
Ford, who retired in 2007, was accused of taking tens of thousands of dollars from drug dealers in exchange for getting them favorable treatment in the courts. He denied the allegations from the witness stand.
