An off-duty Prince George County police officer's death is being investigated by the Virginia State Police.
State police Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar says Prince George County Police Chief Edward Frankenstein requested the investigation of the female officer's death.
Molnar says state police officers were called to the 17000 block of Lebanon Road around 9:30 p.m. Monday. The county officer was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
Molnar says the cause of death will be determined by the chief medical examiner's office. The officer's name hasn't been released.
