Storm Leaves More than 113,000 Without Power in Virginia

More than 113,000 customers across Virginia remain without electricity in the wake of a winter storm that left up to a foot of snow in some areas.

Most of the outages are in Northern Virginia, where Dominion Virginia Power reported about 105,000 customers without electricity Thursday morning.

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative reported 5,623 outages. Fauquier, Culpeper and Warren counties each had more than 1,000 outages.

In southwest Virginia, Appalachian Power reported about 2,515 outages.

The National Weather Service says parts of Loudoun County
received 10 inches to more than a foot of snow.

State police troopers responded to more than 1,000 accidents across Virginia between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.
