The suspect in the disappearance of a teenager, Alexis Murphy, will not have his trial moved to another venue.
On Friday, a judge ruled that Randy Allen Taylor will be tried in Nelson County. Taylor's defense had requested last month to move the case to a different location.
The judge accepted a motion from defense to bar witnesses from mentioning other missing persons and or murder cases. During trial, though, the judge says he will consider allowing other court documents that reference missing person and murder cases on a case-by-case basis.
Taylor will be allowed to wear professional attire during the trial, instead of a prison uniform.
Defense had requested a questionnaire to be mailed to potential jurors, but the judge denied that motion.
Taylor is facing charges including first-degree murder and abduction with intent to defile.
The charges stem from the disappearance of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy of Shipman. Murphy was last seen Aug. 3rd at a gas station in Lovingston.
