January 11, 2011

The University of Virginia is helping working adults in the Richmond area complete their bachelor's degrees.

The Charlottesville school says its Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree-completion program will be offered in the Richmond area starting in fall 2012. The program is through new partnerships with John Tyler and J. Sargeant Reynolds community colleges.

The program features part-time evening classes that allows adults to earn a UVa undergraduate degree.

Over the past decade, nearly 300 students have earned degrees through the program. It has been offered in Charlottesville since 1999 and has since expanded to northern Virginia and Hampton Roads.
