Several Central Virginia school divisions kept the buses parked Monday morning for the first snow day of the year.

Buckingham, Fluvanna and Louisa County schools were closed along with Effort Christian and Calvary Christian. Meanwhile, Page and Nelson County schools opened two hours late.

Sergeant Thomas J. Molnar reports it has been a busy Monday for Virginia State Police. Since 5am VSP troopers have responded to more than 150 crashes statewide. Particular problem areas are along Interstate 64 in Goochland/Louisa where troopers have responded to over 23 crashes.

From 5:00am to 11:30am, troopers responded to a total of 110 reported motor vehicle crashes in the Richmond Metro area. These crashes are on I-295 near Route 301, Meadowbridge and Woodman Roads and near the 28 mile marker and on I-95 near Parham Road.
