BUENA VISTA, Va. (AP) - Schools in Buena Vista are closed Monday because of a brush fire that has burned 300 acres.
Media outlets report that the fire began Sunday afternoon on the southeast side of the city. It then spread to Elephant Mountain in the George Washington National Forest.
The National Forest Service says the fire is about 5 percent contained.
No damage to homes or buildings has been reported.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
