GLEN ALLEN, Va. (AP) - Their work done in Virginia, approximately 125 linemen, trucks and equipment are heading to New Jersey and other northern states slammed by Superstorm Sandy.
The crews are from Central Virginia Electric Cooperative, Community Electric Cooperative, Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative, Northern Neck Electric Cooperative, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative, Prince George Electric Cooperative and Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
Richard Johnstone is executive vice president of the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives. He says the co-ops' line crews are delighted to "pay if forward" to hard-hit utility customers in the Northeast.
