Va. Families Investing More into College Savings

August 29, 2013

Virginia families seem to be saving more for their children's college education.

Officials with the Virginia529 College Savings Plan say families invested about $497 million during the last fiscal year into three savings programs.

That amount is up 13 percent from the year before.

About 13 percent more students also withdrew money from their own accounts to pay for college expenses.
