WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - A Providence Forge man charged in a dragging death has entered Alford pleas to causing death while racing and hit and run.

Online court records show 22 -year-old Michael Robinson entered his pleas Friday in Williamsburg/James City County Circuit Court. A sentencing hearing is set for March 21.

An Alford plea is one in which a defendant acknowledges there was sufficient evidence for conviction but does not admit guilt.

Police say Robinson and 30-year-old Letroy Prince Wallace of James City County were racing on May 18, 2013, when Wallace lost control of his car. The vehicle hit a tree and Wallace was ejected.

The other vehicle ran over Wallace and dragged him for 4 miles.
