A Virginia Beach man was sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to selling unregistered machine guns to federal agents.
U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride says 43-year-old Leonard Clarence Davis was sentenced Monday in federal court in Norfolk. He pleaded guilty in December.
Court records say Davis and co-defendant Christopher Aaron Phillips sold 26 fully automatic machine guns and 65 pipe bombs to an undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent between September and October. Phillips pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transfer machine guns in May. He will be sentenced Sept. 6.
Philips owns Combat Weapons' Coatings in Virginia Beach.
