Virginia small businesses and nonprofits affected by excessive rain and flooding last fall have until November 18 to apply for disaster aid.
The U.S. Small Business Administration says federal economic injury disaster loans are available for applicants in Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, and Halifax and Mecklenburg counties. The loans are available for those harmed by the rain and flooding that occurred from November 1 through December 31 last year.
Officials say the loans are for small businesses and nonprofits that suffered financial losses as a direct result of the disaster. The loans can be up to $2 million.
Farmers, ranchers and agricultural producers are not eligible for these loans.
