Va. Man Gets 3 Years for Leading Police on 50-mile Chase

October 28, 2010

A 19-year-old man who led police on a 50-mile pursuit with three children in his van has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Glenn Fuselier Jr. was sentenced Wednesday in Petersburg Circuit Court on child endangerment, felony eluding police and other charges.

"The Richmond Times-Dispatch" said he also was ordered to pay restitution of more than $4,000 for damage to police vehicles.

Fuselier was at the wheel of the van February 17 when he fled a traffic stop before crashing at an Interstate 95 exit in Petersburg. He and the children escaped serious injury.

Four years ago, Fuselier accidentally set himself on fire and nearly died while trying to stoke a campfire. His plight was widely covered in the media.
