A Richmond police officer has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a 15-year-old girl.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Ronald E. Oaks Jr. is accused of persuading the girl to show him nude photos of herself on her cell phone.
According to Henrico County police, Oaks asked to see the pictures when he took his son and the girl to a fast-food restaurant Nov. 5 during a break in a band event at Godwin High School. Police say the girl initially refused to show the photos but then relented.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that a Jan. 9 preliminary hearing has been set for Oaks. His lawyer, Matthew Geary, said Oaks has been placed on administrative leave.
