Southside Speedway is postponing Friday night's races until July 27 because of hot weather.
The Midlothian track says on its website that it's concerned about the safety of drivers, workers, fans and sponsors.
The National Weather Service says temperatures are expected to be near 100 degrees Friday.
The track says the July 13 races will run as scheduled. Races originally scheduled for July 27 will be run at a date to be determined.
