Va. Woman Wins Santa Train Photo Contest

November 17, 2010

A Virginia woman has won the "68 Years of Memories" Santa Train photo contest.

Lora Kiser of Abingdon is being honored for the photo showing her daughter and father standing in front of the train amid a large crowd.

Each year, the Santa Train travels from Pikeville, Kentucky to Kingsport, Tennessee on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in celebration of the holiday season. The train will make 14 stops in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee to distribute more than 15 tons and $300,000 worth of toys and gifts to thousands of people.

Kiser wins a special guest spot at the Santa Train's final stop in Kingsport, the opportunity to toss gifts to the crowd, a gift basket and the chance to meet Wynonna and Naomi Judd, this year's celebrities aboard the train.
