A suburban Richmond woman convicted of faking cancer to raise money will stand trial in September on new charges.
Media outlets report that a Hanover County Circuit Court judge scheduled a Sept. 26 bench trial for Martha Ann Nicholas on Wednesday.
A grand jury indicted the Mechanicsville woman earlier this month on three counts of Medicaid fraud and two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses. The charges are felonies.
In January, Nicholas pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor false pretense counts. She was fined $100.
