RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The online portal to order tree seedlings from the Virginia Department of Forestry is re-opening soon.
The state agency says its online tree seedling store will reopen Oct. 9
Every year the department offers hardwood and pine bareroot seedlings. The Forestry Department's two tree nurseries grow and sell 24 million tree seedlings each year.
Officials say it's something the agency has done for residents for nearly 95 years.
Those interested can log onto BuyVirginiaTrees.com and order from the more than 40 species available. The online store also includes information to help landowners choose the right species.
