Virginia Man Charged with Threatening Obama

April 7, 2012

A Virginia man is facing charges of threatening to kill President Barack Obama.

A federal indictment unsealed this week charges 40-year-old Steven John Gurczynski of Roanoke with making the threats in November and December 2010.

According to court records, a concerned citizen told Roanoke police that Gurczynski was talking about Obama being the Antichrist and how he needed to kill him.

In an interview later with a Secret Service agent, Gurczynski said that God told him to "put a bullet in Barack Obama's head and he considered it his duty to do so."

The Roanoke Times reports that Gurczynski is currently being held in the city jail.
