CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Wintergreen is offering a limited number of memberships to people who don't own property at the Nelson County resort.
It's the first time in Wintergreen's history that memberships are being offered to non-property owners.
The Daily Progress (http://bit.ly/YWOl42 ) reports that Wintergreen officials announced the change Tuesday.
General manager Hank Thiess says 100 memberships are available for a limited time. Memberships include access to private ski lift lines, special ski hours and access to the 18-hole Devils Knob and 27-hole Stoney Creek golf courses.
Thiess says the offer is part of owner Jim Justice's commitment to enhance Wintergreen's facilities.
Justice bought Wintergreen last summer. He also owns The Greenbrier resort in West Virginia.
