Va. Worker Dies After Getting Trapped in Asphalt Mixer

Hampton police say a man died after getting trapped in an asphalt mixer.

Cpl. Jason Price says in incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Branscome asphalt facility. The Virginian-Pilot reports that police identified the victim as 56-year-old Francisco Alvino of Virginia Beach.

A company official told WVEC.com that the victim had been with Branscome for about 10 years.

Price said the investigation will likely be turned over to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
