VDOT Plans Road Work in Albemarle, Charlottesville and Fluvanna

The Virginia Department of Transportation will be working on a handful of highway work projects this week in central Virginia. Traffic may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones

Albemarle County

Route 691 (Jarmans Gap Road) – Roadway improvements and construction of bike lanes and sidewalk. Estimated project completion September 2012, with intermittent lane closures throughout the project. Motorists should be alert as they approach the work zone.

Route 744 (Hacktown Road) – Road surface repairs. Motorists should expect minor delays and stay alert as they approach the work zone.

City of Charlottesville

Jefferson Park Avenue Extended – Bridge replacement. Road closed at JPA bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad. Estimated completion September 2012. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone.

Fluvanna County

Route 1015 (Turkey Sag Trail) – Construction of bike lanes and pedestrian facilities. Lane closures will occur April 10-September 28. Motorists are asked to drive with caution through the work zone and stay alert for changes to the traffic pattern.
