The Virginia men's basketball team will make an all-too-familiar road trip for next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup.
UVa will travel to College Park to face longtime ACC rival Maryland on Wednesday, December 3. Next season will mark the Terrapins' first as a member of the Big Ten, after more than six decades as an ACC school.
December's game will mark the 182nd all-time meeting between the two programs, in a series that dates back to the 1912-13 season. UVa had won its last six in a row against the Terps until a 75-69 overtime loss in College Park on March 9, in the regular season finale for both teams -- and the ACC finale for Maryland.
UVa is 8-6 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Cavaliers had a three-game winning streak in the Challenge snapped with last December's 48-38 loss to Wisconsin at John Paul Jones Arena.
Rutgers and Maryland are both joining the Big Ten for the 2014-15 season. As a result, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge is expanding to 14 games this year, with the full list of matchups announced on Thursday.
