Three Virginia women's soccer players were named to the 11-player Preseason All-ACC team, which was announced Monday. Senior midfielders Morgan Brian and Danielle Colaprico, and junior forward Makenzy Doniak all picked up the honors.
In 2013, all three players were named All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Brian and Doniak also earned first-team all-conference honors after the 'Hoos historic season last year, while Colaprico was on the All-ACC second-team.
The Cavaliers were also picked second in the preseason poll of the league’s coaches. Florida State was the preseason pick to win the league, with eight of the 14 first-place votes. UVa had five first-place votes, while North Carolina, who was third in the poll, had one first-place vote.
UVa opens its regular season schedule on Friday, when the Cavaliers Marshall.
