Nick Tremps made sure the Greene Hills Invitational Title stayed in the hands of a Cavalier.
The Virginia freshman shot a final round 70 Sunday to win the 32nd Annual Tournament at the Greene Hills Golf Club in Stanardsville.
Fellow Cavalier David Pastore won the Invitational last year.
Tremps came into the day one shot behind leader Mikey Moyers, a Virginia Tech senior and William Monroe alum. Tremps stumbled a bit on the front nine but made up ground by shooting four-under on the back half.
"End up shooting four-under on the back and I knew that kind of put me in a good place. I actually didn't know I won until I walked outside (the clubhouse) to check. It was a good feeling."
Moyers meanwhile finished in a four-way tie for second with Chad Jones, Keith Decker and last year's City Champion, Phil Mahone.
"I was just trying to play my own game and stay there. Hit a few shots coming in and rolled a few putts in so it was good," Tremps said.
