The Virginia softball team dropped the rubber game of a three-game series with No. 9 Florida State, 15-0, Sunday at The Park. With the loss, the Cavaliers fell to 3-16 overall and 1-5 in the ACC.
FSU used an 11-run third inning to break open the game for Lacey Waldrop, who threw a no-hitter with five strikeouts and two walks.
UVa sophomore pitcher Aimee Chapdelaine took the loss to fall to 3-14 on the season, allowing nine runs. Freshman Lindsay Mayer gave up six runs in three innings of relief with a season-high four strikeouts.
The Cavaliers head to Atlanta, Ga., Wednesday for a doubleheader at Georgia Tech. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
