Virginia Softball Ends Season in Loss at Boston College

The Virginia softball team fell at Boston College, 4-1, in its 2014 season finale Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers finish the campaign with an 8-43 record, 1-25 in the ACC in Blake Miller's first year as head coach.

The Cavaliers broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning when freshman Lindsay Mayer scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Megan Harris.

The Eagles capitalized on two Cavalier errors in the sixth inning, scoring four runs including a Tatiana Cortez three-run home run to take a 4-1 lead.
