Albemarle High School alum R.J. Archer is back with the NFL's Detroit Lions.
Archer, who was in camp with the Lions earlier this offseason, resigned with Detroit on Thursday. He's expected to compete with undrafted rookie Kellen Moore for the team's third-string quarterback job.
Archer is currently the quarterback for the Arena League's Georgia Force. He's thrown for 2,446 yards, with 49 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this season. Archer spent time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2010 -- both on the practice squad and active roster -- after going undrafted out of William & Mary.
