The Albemarle baseball team suffered only its second loss of the season, 2-1, to Stafford Thursday evening. The Patriots were down 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and cut the deficit in half with a walk but could do no more.

At Monticello, the boys soccer team got a hat trick from Will Lambert in a 6-1 win over Rockbridge. Kevin Gomez and Hernan Castillo also added goals.
