The Buckingham County football team is up a spot in the second week of the Associated Press statewide high school football polls.
The Knights bumped up to No. 6 in this week's poll, after improving to 4-0 with a 41-6 win at Amelia County in last Friday's James River District opener for both teams. Buckingham travels to 2-2 Nottoway this Friday.
Western Albemarle was the only local team to receive votes this week, getting one point in the Group AA poll. The Warriors travel to Monticello on Friday in a match-up of 4-0 Jefferson District teams. The Mustangs received votes in last week's initial Group AA poll, but failed to show up on a ballot this week.
