Monticello's Mosley Gets Offer from JMU

Updated: Thu 12:02 AM, Apr 19, 2012

Monticello rising senior quarterback Jhalil Mosley received his first college scholarship offer on Wednesday -- from one of the high profile programs in FCS football.

James Madison offered Mosley as a quarterback during an unofficial visit to the school on Wednesday morning, according to Monticello head coach Rodney Redd. JMU went 7-4 during the regular season in 2011, and reached the second round of the FCS playoffs.

Mosley threw for 1,907 yards and 21 touchdowns -- and ran for 655 yards and 10 touchdowns -- as a junior last fall, leading the Mustangs to the Region II semifinals. He was a second-team all-Jefferson District selection after the season.

Redd said other FCS schools have shown interest in Mosley, but have not yet made scholarship offers.
