It was back to school today for members of the Western Albemarle golf team.
They weren't in class Monday or Tuesday because they were in Front Royal--winning the AA State Championship.
The Warriors won the title by six strokes over Cave Spring and were excited to end the season on a positive note.
"This is definitely great," Landon Weis said. "This had been our goal really since our freshman year. We wanted to win States, that's the pinnacle."
"It was a great way to go out," Alex O'Dell added, "Especially since it was the senior season for four of the top six."
"We've been close for four years, I think when they came in as freshmen we were State Runner-Up that year. I think we were fifth their sophomore year then Runner-Up again their junior year. I know they really wanted to win a State Championship so I'm really excited for them," Coach Darren Maynard said.
