Western Albemarle is holding steady as one of the top Group AA football teams in Virginia.
The Warriors are once again ranked No. 6 in the state in the latest Associated Press poll, released Monday. Western was also ranked sixth last week, prior to the Warriors' 40-28 win at Fluvanna County last Friday.
Western can wrap up a perfect 10-0 regular season with a win at home over Louisa County on Friday. The Warriors also enter that game as the top team in the VHSL's weekly ratings for Region II, Division 3, used to determine playoff seeding.
