The Western Albemarle boys golf team returned home from Front Royal Tuesday evening with a new state championship trophy.
The Warriors won the state title after shooting a 300 as a team in Tuesday's final round at the Group AA Championship tournament at the Shenandoah Country Club.
Western entered the second round tied with Cave Spring, after both teams shot a 306 in Monday's opening round. The Knights finished six strokes back in second place after another 306 on Tuesday.
Alex O'Dell shot a three-under 68 to lead the Warriors on Tuesday. Teammate Landon Weis shot a 72.
