The Western Albemarle Warriors downed Fauquier County, 1-0, to claim the Region II Field Hockey Championship Saturday evening.
Olivia Hajak scored the game's only goal midway through the first half. The Jefferson District Player of the Year weaved her way into the box then scored on a nice backhand.
Warriors goalkeeper Maya Langman turned away the Falcons for the shutout.
