The Western Albemarle volleyball team is a win away from the AA state tournament.
The Warriors advanced to the Region II semifinals with a 3-0 win over Heritage on Tuesday. Western will now host Potomac Falls at 7 p.m. Thursday in the regional semifinals, with the winner clinching a spot in the state tournament.
Potomac Falls advanced with a 3-0 upset of Sherando on Tuesday.
The Warriors had a streak of three straight state tournament appearances snapped last season.
