The Western Albemarle football team didn't even get a chance to attempt an extra point before being told to leave the field.
Tanner Knight's 11-yard touchdown run with 4:46 left in the first quarter gave the Warriors an early 6-0 lead Thursday night against Charlottesville.
But as soon as Knight crossed the goal line, officials cleared the stadium at Monticello High School because of lightning. Play resumed after an almost hour-long delay, with Western rolling to a 42-7 win.
Henry had a pair of touchdown passes - a 28-yarder to Nick Drapanis, and a 17-yarder to Isiah Cowan - as the Warriors began pulling away in the second quarter.
Daniel Kuzjak also intercepted Mason Sherry with just seconds left in the half, and returned the ball 50 yards for another score, giving the Warriors a comfortable 28-0 lead at the break.
Western improves to 3-4 with the win. The loss drops CHS to 1-7.
